12. Which Asian drama genre do you mostly like to watch.

Day 19 repeat!

I’d have to say that I don’t really have one favourite genre, I sort of like a cocktail of many.

Sure, most of the dramas I’ve watched have been rom-coms, but some days I just get so sick of the overused tropes (ie. rich guy poor girl, guy gets amnesia, evil mother in the way) that I find myself seeking more mature dramas, such as MARS or Black and White which fall into “mature” or action/thriller/detective genres. To this day however ISWAK, TKA, and In Time With You remain in my top favourites so…

To be fair though I tend to watch dramas based on the actors (aka, watching everything Vic Zhou is in), so it’s possible that my tastes in dramas is only a reflection of their work. :P

I don’t really stick to a single genre, because I like a little bit of everything; romance, family, mystery, crime, fighting etc. However, I tend to end up watching romantic comedies or just what you’d call “ou xiang ju” (偶像劇) because that is what majority of Taiwanese dramas are. Oh, I guess I also really like period/historical dramas, but I’m not sure if that counts as a genre, haha 😛
