Disclaimer: I wrote this review around winter break and completely forgot about it! 😦
Also – apologies for the lack of posts – for anyone who is just joining, greengrassjelly and I are full time uni students, and this has been a particularly busy year for the two of us! Regular postings will resume again once I
survive claw my way through finish writing my final exams! And now for the review….
So surprise surprise I picked up this series again after hearing that it got a lot better (and that Aaron and Puff had some really cute chemistry). You know me, I’m a sucker for good chemistry. Dramapot has some really good recaps of the first 11 eps or so, and I used that to help me jump around while watching. I recommend watching episode 1, skipping episode 2-4, watching episode 5 (only the beginning and end are all that important), and then watching 6-on at your own digression. The romance factor picks up with episode 10 🙂
Great Chemistry – it was completely unexpected for me, but there’s a reason why Puff and Aaron won the couple’s award
Budget – this series had a decent budget, and looked pretty on par with Kdramas (which are notorious for their flashy packaging)
The first 5 episodes. See my review of episode one here for why…
Acting – now before you jump on me asking why in the world I’d recommend a drama when I complain about the acting….let me explain. The acting improved during the series, after Puff realized she didn’t have to shout all her lines. Aaron has the rich snobby cold persona down pat, but he did carry the sensitive side of his character well. While Puff is not anywhere near any my favourite TW actresses, she ranges from passably bearable to decent. Given time however, she might improve (if Kpop idols can do it, so can you!)
Overall mark? 7
Why? fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff. Cute, and good for those days when you feel like something sweet.
