Okay. It’s official. Check your brain and any logic at the door when watching this drama. I’m amazed Tian Xing hasn’t gotten caught yet, what with all the hints he’s been dropping without even realizing it. Good? Let’s go!

We left of with Tao Mama trying to give Xiao Lu a back massage, and him trying to madly get away because he’s afraid she’ll recognize his bones. I just want to point out that if they look ridiculously similar, they’re bound to have similar bone structure as well right?
He gets saved by the bell….for dinner. During dinner, he sees her grimace at the shallot/egg pancake in her bowl, and quickly takes it away so she doesn’t have to eat it. Tao Zi wonders to herself how he knew she doesn’t like shallots, and it’s revealed that neither Leo (previously referred to as Ting Wei, Leo is his nickname and easier to type) nor Miao Miao knew that she hated shallots. Also, Leo’s not even in the running for second lead now because he’s firmly in “brother” territory. I would root for him and Miao Miao, but I rather like the third part of the trio who likes her.
Miao Miao’s crush on Leo is verrrrrrry obvious, and she asks Tao Zi if she really doesn’t feel anything for Leo. Once assured, she giggles and hopes that maybe they can be sister-in-laws.
At work the next day, the team notes that Tao Zi has dark circles under her eyes. Miao Miao says it’s because Tao Zi spent all night staring at her computer, waiting for an email response. If those are dark circles I passed panda territory a long time ago…
Tao Zi remembers what Xiao Lu told her about counting to seven and making a wish for it to come true, and decided to give it a shot again. Lo and behold, she receives an email! I’m not even going to ask how Xiao Lu timed that (he kept glancing at his watch before).

bratty comedic relief is here! HH shows up outside of Tian Xing’s apartment the next day. She calls his work phone so that he’ll pick up (he’s been ignoring her calls/texts) and uses the intercom to demand a picnic. Tian Xing (dressed as Xiao Lu) plans an escape, and runs out the backdoor.
HH announces that she’ll just let herself in then, and pulls out a copy of Tian Xing’s key that her brother made for her. Luckily Butler Fu pulls open the front door at that second, and tells her that Tian Xing is out. HH pretends to cry for a moment thinking that he might have fallen in love with another girl, then quickly (and quite cheerfully) dismisses the idea as ridiculous – after all she’s so cute and pretty and nice and popular that there’s no way that’d be the case. Pfffft. Butler Fu doesn’t let her in, and asks for her copy of the key. She hands it to him, and then he motions again. HH pulls out another key, and hrumphs as he takes it. After he closes the door, she smiles and pulls out yet another key. HAHAHA
Xiao Lu meets up with Tao Zi, and they head over to Auntie Jiang’s to tell her that they were able to contact her daughter-in-law and obtain her phone number. Unfortunately, when they call the son isn’t home (having gone on a business trip), and Auntie Jiang takes it as a sign that he’s not interested in reconciling. Tao Zi tells Auntie Jiang that she only wanted Auntie Jiang for the commercial because of her brother, but she respect’s Auntie Jiang’s decision not to act anymore. When Xiao Lu and Tao Zi get up to leave, Auntie Jiang stops them to agree to try out the commercial.
During the earlier commotion with HH, Xiao Lu grabbed the wallet for his Tian Xin personna, and finds out unexpectedly when he tries to pay for drinks at a 7-eleven. Tao Zi sees that he doesn’t have any bills on him (but doesn’t she notice the credit cards??), and thinks to herself that Xiao Lu must be poorer that her own family. Right. That’s why he’s working for OZ for free…
The team works to hammer down all the details for the upcoming commercial, and Miao Miao tries to get Leo to take her to pick up her dog. It’s not on his way however, and he doesn’t seem very inclined to help out. The other team member jumps up right away and offers to take her, and methinks that Leo’s aware of the guy’s feelings for Miao Miao.
It’s only Tao Zi and Xiao Lu left in the office at this point, and she starts punching the photo of Tian Xing again. She tells Xiao Lu that technically she should be thanking Tian Xing as well as the team, because the meaner Tian Xing is to her, the more motivated she is to succeed and show him she’s not a loser.
Butler Fu has noticed that Tian Xing has been smiling more as of late, and laughs at him when Tian Xing wonders why. Simultaneously at the Tao residence, Tao Zi asks her mom if she can pack breakfast for Xiao Lu. Tao Mama comments that Tao Zi has been very nice to Xiao Lu particularly, but Tao Zi brushes it off as her just trying to help him out because he’s poor.
Of course, that’s why when they show up to the shoot location, she breezily hands him the breakfast and shushes him when he tries to say he already ate. Poor Leo doesn’t even react, and just tells Xiao Lu to hurry up and eat.
As the shoot progresses, Tao Zi shows that she’s maybe not quite as on top of things as she should be, and she ends up (almost) forgetting the charger for an important piece of equipment and tripping twice. Tian Xing decides it’s time to challenge her again, and steps outside to call her to meet up in 10 minutes. You’re telling me you’re going to change and get to a restaurant before her in 10 minutes?
He challenges her to make sure the ad finishes on time by, of course, insulting whether or not it will. He also tells her he sold her brother’s watch, but is impressed that Tao Zi isn’t crying. Once she leaves, he calls up a number…
Looks like the motivating worked, as Tao Zi prepares a lot of details that were otherwise overlooked, and preps everyone on their roles. The team works throughout the night, and in the morning unloads more stuff from the van. At this point Tao Zi
trips collapses fumbles does something wrong so she almost falls and Xiao Lu catches her. She invites him over for breakfast after she meets with Leo, and he hesitantly agrees before calling Butler Fu to pick him up at the Tao residence.
Butler Fu is so excited to see his past love (Tao Mama) again that he doesn’t notice HH pressed against the window of the apartment, overhearing where Tian Xing is. He also doesn’t notice her
butt-ugly car following behind until he pulls up right by the Tao house where Leo, Tao Zi, and Xiao Lu happen to be walking by. Logic.
Of course, HH sees the trio walking, and tackles Xiao Lu in a hug. He tries to deny that he’s Tian Xing, but she exclaims that he and Tian Xing smell the same. HAHAHA. Leo and Tao Zi tell her that it’s really not Tian Xing, and that she should go with Butler Fu to meet Tian Xing.
This means that Xiao Lu has seconds to transform back to Tian Xing, and he sneaks into the car after Butler Fu shows that it’s empty. After rapidly changing, he briefly greets HH before getting back in the car to drive off. HH is left standing on the side of the road, but she heads back to talk to Tao Zi and Leo who are waiting for Xiao Lu to “buy herbal tea”.
Tian Xing ends up sending Tao Zi a text saying that something came up and he can’t make it, and she looks a bit downtrodden. Girl put two and two together already! At breakfast, Tao Baba tells Leo to go into attack mode now that a rival love interest has shown up. Poor Leo just looks confused.
Today is the day that Auntie Jiang is shooting, and Tao Zi thanks her for agreeing. Auntie Jiang can’t seem to focus properly however, and faints during a take. The team rushes her to the hospital, where she’s connected to an IV and diagnosed with nutrient deficiency. Auntie Jiang wants to head back to film once her IV is done, and Tao Zi promises to visit her long after the shoot ends.
The shoot calls for a scene where a son returns home to his mother, and during the first take when Auntie Jiang is back, the doorbell rings, cutting filming. Xiao Lu goes to open the door….. and it’s Auntie Jiang’s son and wife (with their ridiculously adorable baby!!!!). The crew catches the reunion on film, and Xiao Lu turns to film Tao Zi’s reaction. Boy’s in love and doesn’t even know it yet.
A few days later, filming has wrapped up and the commercial is finished. The team sits down to watch it, and most of them end up in tears. Shortly after it finishes, they all (minus Xiao Lu) receive calls. They all also look like the world is ending as they put down their phones…
Alright I hate to say thing, but I’m not feeling the chemistry at all with Tao Zi and Tian Xing. Her and Xiao Lu is slightly better, but that’s in part due to how much more loveable Aaron is as the dorky character. Leo’s just a mopey brother friend, and I’m not invested in the side pairing right now. I do wish her brother would show up more though!
I’m not even going to start with the logistical issues in this episode…or the series for that matter. This is definitely a fluff drama with extra – no thinking allowed – written all over it. Sigh. That being said, I really like Butler Fu and Tian Xing’s scenes together, and I will admit to laughing during HH’s scenes.
