I guess the TW dramaland folks have decided a decade is enough time to remake It Started With a Kiss, fondly known by its fans as ISWAK. The original aired in 2005, which I still can’t believe was 11 years ago..until I see the fashions and filming quality from back then haha. I made a post previously about ISWAK and it’s many remakes (K-drama, J-drama), and now it’s getting a revamp back in its native country. Err..sort of native country, since to be fair it was inspired by a Japanese manga. Continue reading “It Started With a Kiss…TW Remake?”

PHEW! This recap is long overdue. Fabulous Boys finale here we go!
You can watch Fabulous Boys on Dramafever here!
Tai Qing starts walking away from Mei Nan, but stops when she calls out to him. He shuts her down when she asks if he knows about her mother, and tells her that she should get along well with Mu Hua Lan. Mei Nan points out that yes, he has a right to be hurt because Mu Hua Lan abandoned him, but what about her mother? She was forced to give birth to the twins alone, and died shortly thereafter. Don’t her mother’s feelings and her own count too? Mei Nan apologizes for not coming clean about knowing that Mu Hua Lan was his mother, and tells Tai Qing that she’ll go somewhere he can’t see so that they won’t be hurt anymore at the sight of one another. Tai Qing reaches out to grab her as she leaves, but hesitates and lets her go. 😦
Tai Qing retreats to the studio, where Jack finds him messing around on the piano. Jack wants to warn Tai Qing that they may have to pull the song he rewrote for Mu Hua Lan – Mu Hua Lan let slip that she stole the song from Gu Mong Han (also known as Mei Nan’s mom) when she stormed into Jack’s office the other day. This means that Mu Hua Lan actually broke up Mei Nan’s parents, and the song she stole was written by Mei Nan’s dad, asking her mom to come back to him.
Tai Qing immediately runs off to the airport, where, coincidentally, Xin Ning is waiting for her flight. She’s planning on avoiding the imminent scandal of Mei Nan’s gender by leaving the country, but decides to stay for a bit when she spots Tai Qing. Xin Ning is concerned that Da Pai might expose the secret and harm Tai Qing’s career as a result.
Meanwhile, Da Pai is hiding in the corner, waiting for Mei Nan to return so that he can expose her. Xin Yu, Mark, and Jeremy are all nearby, waiting for Mei Nan and her brother to come arrive as well. Xin Ning approaches Tai Qing to tell him to leave the country with her, but Tai Qing gently rejects her, saying that the real Mei Nan is arriving today, and that she really is cute when she’s nice.
Da Pai spots Mei Nan as she steps into the lobby, and gives chase. Mei Nan sprints ahead of him, but slips around a corner and falls onto the ground. He catches up at yells that she’s really Mei Nu, all the while snapping photos. The rest of A.N. Jell, Mark, and Xin Ning quickly arrive, but a deep voice cuts in before they can react. It’s the real Mei Nan, demanding to know why Da Pai is harassing his sister. A dumfounded Da Pai is quickly forced into defense when Mark asks Mei Nan if she wants to sue for sexual harassment, and Xin Yu chimes in that his girlfriend is just an ordinary citizen who suffered because of Da Pai. Phew! Crisis averted. Also – hooray! Finally a drama that showed BOTH twins at the same time.
Mei Nan and Tai Qing relocate to the company rooftop to talk – he apologizes and explains that the song was never for Mu Hua Lan, her father truly did love her mom. Mei Nan is glad to hear it, but asks that he not produce the song and just return it to her. Tai Qing promises, and Mei Nan tells him that if one day she is okay with everything, she’ll contact him.
Cut to a few months later, when Tai Qing and Xin Ning announce their break up, and the real Mei Nan has gotten so popular that some of Tai Qing’s fans have jumped ship. As A.N. Jell (minus Mei Nan) are in the van on day, Jeremy notices that a user with the name “pig-rabbit” has posted a video in the fan café. Tai Qing realizes it must be Mei Nu, and clicks on the link to see a video message telling him that she’s finally okay with everything, and will continue to support him from far away. Xin Yu comments that the video wasn’t posted too long ago, and the background is in the same area as their van.
The boys rush out of the car, desperate to find Mei Nu, except for Tai Qing. He’s mad at how Mei Nu chose to contact him, and grumps that she should have at least told him face to face. His stubbornness quickly breaks down however, and he joins the search. Meanwhile, Mei Nu is walking around snapping photos of stars, oblivious to the screaming hordes of fangirls mobbing her friends.
Finally, she looks up to see Tai Qing only a few meters away. They make eye contact, but Tai Qing can’t break through the mob in time to reach her. Mei Nu then goes to meet Mark at a small cafe to say goodbye – she tells him that she’s leaving the country to go volunteer. Just as Mark hands her a letter from Mei Nan, he receives a text from the coordi saying that Jack got a tip off that Mei Nan is racing in the mountains. In Mei Nan’s letter, he tells Mei Nu that he’s taking a short break so that she can pretend to be him and catalogue her thoughts – he doesn’t want her and Tai Qing’s relationship to end like their parents’.
Jack summons Mark and Mei Nan to the office, where Mei Nu fills in once again. Jack is left none the wiser, and dismisses Mei Nu. She wanders onto the company rooftop, where Tai Qing is deep in thought. He calls out to her believing she is her brother, and tries to cover up his feelings by asking “Mei Nan” to pass on a message, “I received your video. Thank you. I will move on as well and cut everything off. Tell her not to worry about me either, because I’m still fine even without her.” 😥
Mei Nu starts tearing up, but gets summoned by Jack again to have dinner with Xin Ning and Mark. Jack is trying to set the two up (HAHA), because the real Mei Nan told everyone he liked her when he first got back. Mark tells Mei Nu not to make eyecontact with Xin Ning, and gets her drunk so that she passes out. The rest of A.N. Jell arrives to help “push” the couple together, and it’s in this moment that Tai Qing finally recognizes Mei Nu. WHY NOT BEFORE?
Tai Qing takes Mei Nu back to the dorm, and takes care of her until she wakes up. Mei Nu assumes that he hasn’t recognized her yet, but Tai Qing makes a pig-nose at her, prompting her to slip up and confirm her identity. He asks when she started pretending to be Mei Nan, but Mei Nu cuts him off to say that she’s glad he’s okay, and that she heard his message for Mei Nan. Bet you feel dumb now, Tai Qing?
She apologizes for breaking her promise to disappear from in front of him, and tells him that she’ll stick to her word this time. His life is too bright for her eyes, so it’s better for her to view him from far away. Tai Qing understands, and tells her while wiping a tear off her face that he will support her decision if it is what she wants. NOOOOOOOOO.
As Mark drives Mei Nu home, he hands her a ticket for Mei Nan’s first concert. It’s the same day as her flight, and Mark asks her to at least see the concert before she leaves. Back in the dorm, Tai Qing banishes the pig-rabbit doll to storage.
Looks like Mei Nu is meeting everybody again before she leaves, because we next see her talking to Mu Hua Lan. Mu Hua Lan has prepared an envelope of information on Mei Nu’s mom, and admits that Mei Nu’s father never loved another. Mu Hua Lan begs Mei Nu not to leave Tai Qing’s side, because he won’t ever talk to her otherwise.
Backstage at the performance, both Jeremy and Xin Ning call Tai Qing a liar when he says that he and Mei Nu broke up, and tell him to stop hiding his feelings.
Mu Hua Lan arrives as well, apologizing for all of her mistakes in the past and asking for forgiveness….as well for for Tai Qing to go after Mei Nu. Yeah! Tai Qing turns to go, but pauses to tell her that while he can’t forgive her right away, he’d appreciate it if she stays to listen to his concert – it’s always been his dream to sing for his mother. D’aww.
It seems that this was the last little push that Tai Qing needed, and he drives to the orphanage to find Mei Nu. Don’t you have a concert to perform at? Though he doesn’t see Mei Nu, a little girl asks Tai Qing if he’s the teacher’s star boyfriend. It turns out that the entire kindergarten is decorated in stars, and Tai Qing realizes that Mei Nu constantly thought about him after she left A.N. Jell.
Mei Nu arrives unnoticed to the concert amidst a crowd of fans, though she checks her watch often because she’s determined not to stay long. Tai Qing asks A.N. Jell if he can change up the song order – he wants to sing the first song for Mei Nu.
When he gets up on stage he can’t see anything, but to Mei Nu he’s as clear as day. She says a prayer asking for God to protect him before turning to leave. At that moment, Tai Qing announces, “This song is dedicated to the most important person in my life. She’s in the audience right now and I hope she realizes my feelings for her.” He sings the song, then yells for Mei Nu to come to where he can see her.
“You can hear me right? It’s too bright where I am and too dark where you are, so I can’t see you.
Didn’t I tell you not to go where I can’t see you? Come to where I can see you!”
The lights turn on, and Tai Qing manages to spot Mei Nu standing in the crowd. He rushes into the crowd, and gently tells her that no matter where she goes she has to bring him. “I’m your favourite star, and I’ll only shine for you” SQUEEEE too much cute. He finally brings out the star necklace and gives it to her, before telling her: “Pig-rabbit, I love you”.
Annnnnnddddd KISS. ❤
Error: Redbeanmochi not found – file found to have overheated from cuteness and swooning.
Okay but actually guys, this last episode was actually pretty amazing. We got to see BOTH twins in the same frame (not even YAB did this!) and got another good kiss 🙂 Plus…that love declaration at the end was MUCH better than in YAB. Not to say that I don’t love YAB, it’s still my favourite because it’s the original and was the most polished overall. But…Fabulous Boys came pretty dang close.
Thanks for hanging in with me 🙂
If you weren’t able to tell…this episode is a rollercoaster of emotions that
crash and burn go everywhere
You can watch Fabulous Boys on Dramafever here!
We open to see Jeremy run into a friend who runs a radio talkshow. She jokingly asks when he’s going to be back on her program, and he lights up, asking if he can sing a song tonight for his friends. They schedule for 6:30, and Jeremy looks at a smiley face cookie, wondering if Mei Nan will smile like that when she hears his song (presumably for her). When he opens the computer however, he sees that fans have uploaded photos of Mei Nan and Tai Qing hugging at the airport…
Elsewhere, Mu Hua Lan sips red wine (okay seriously, this lady is killing her kidneys with the amount of pensive wine-sipping she does in every episode) while staring at a photo of the twins. Okay we get it, you’re one obsessed lady. She mutters that while Mei Nan looked like her dad, in reality she speaks just like her mother.
Tai Qing and Mei Nan walk back into the company headquarters, and Mark runs up to Tai Qing, complaining that he finally got Xin Yu and Mei Nan one-on-one time…what is he doing? Tai Qing smirks, and tells Mark to watch – he pulls Mei Nan close in a hug and she immediately makes the pig nose. Haha, poor Mark is so confused he can only stutter.
Tai Qing heads off to work on Mu Hua Lan’s song, and he reads the bio on the songwriter [whom we know to be Mei Nan’s dad]. He muses that he sure seems talented, but wonders if their supposed “love” really was all that powerful.
Mark continues grilling Mei Nan about her crush on Tai Qing, asking when she started liking him and why. Mei Nan smiles sheepishly as she confesses that she doesn’t really know when or how she started liking him, but he’s like a shining star in front of her eyes. Jeremy’s left the recording studio to get to the bottom of the airport photos, and he comes across the pair just as Mei Nan confesses that she likes Tai Qing. Heartbroken, he asks her to confirm it, then bolts out into the night.
The deadline for the radio show is approaching, and Mark and Mei Nan scour the streets for him. Mei Nan remembers his secret bus, and finds him in the back (after first climbing on the wrong one). Jeremy glares at her, telling to that this is his bus and she should get off. He begins to cry, asking rhetorically:
J: “Why don’t you like me? You were the only one I shared this secret bus with – you were the only one I played violin for – I was the one to cheer you up whenever you had a frown on your face.”
Mei Nan apologizes, near tears herself, and Jeremy replies: “Those are not the three words I want to hear right now.” Ouch.
The radio calls his cell, and Jeremy gains enough control over his voice to talk cheerfully and wish his fans luck in their studies. He tells them that sometimes life and love can be difficult, and that even if it doesn’t go your way (literally, you don’t hear the words you want), to hold on and bear it. He glances at Mei Nan before he begins to sing, and chokes on some of the words as tears continue to pour down his face.
When the bus reaches it’s starting destination again, Jeremy dries his tears and begins to head towards the door. He pauses to ask Mei Nan to put it in the past – since the bus is starting over, he should as well. If she is going to be awkward and bring it up, he won’t be able to get over it. Aw. Once he’s off the bus, Jeremy takes a moment to wipe his face of tears – when he turns around it’s with the usual cheer and smile. He promises to take Mei Nan to go eat ice cream, and tells her not to look so gloomy. Double aw, he’s such a sweetie 😦
Tai Qing has finally finished reworking Mu Hua Lan’s song, and he wonders why Mei Nan hasn’t called him yet. He smirks as he remembers that he told her not to disturb him, and that she must be sitting by her phone waiting for him to call. Pfft, your ego needs to go down a notch. And go down a notch it does, and he’s shocked to find that Mei Nan is sleeping when he calls. Hahahaha. He tells her that as his V.V.VIP, she should care that her idol hasn’t eaten yet. She blearily asks if he’s okay, and Tai Qing demands that she meet him at the headquarters in 30 minutes with red wine.
Mei Nan shows up in 25 minutes, and Tai Qing leads her to the rooftop, where he’s set up a table with lights, wine glasses, and candles. AW. He looks into her bag….to find that she’s brought milk instead of wine. HAHAHA. Mei Nan confesses that she thought he’d need nutrition because he didn’t eat yet, and Tai Qing smiles at her concern. They end up eating the noodles he cooked (Mei Nan compares them to ramen haha) with milk in wine glasses. Too cute!
The pair then watch a movie using a projector Tai Qing set up, and at one point he sneakily inches toward her to put his arm around her shoulders. I see what you did there. After the film, Mei Nan points out that there are actually lots of stars that Tai Qing can see; she’s got stars on her shirt, and and the lights are stars as well.
Tai Qing smiles and tells her to collect stars to show him, and Mei Nan agrees, since it’s something she wants to do before she leaves. She’s surprised when Tai Qing asks if she wants to see 5,000 stars, and he blows on his fist in demonstration. HAHAHAHA. Mei Nan backpedals, telling him that she really doesn’t need to see stars that badly, but Tai Qing tells her to be quiet and keep her eyes closed. He swings – then stops, and swoops in for a kiss. AHHHHHHHH.
It gets better. He pulls away to look her in the eyes, and whispers that she’d better not become a pig-rabbit right now. Then he goes back in for another kiss and there’s lip action. (EDIT: Thank you TW drama-gods, for blessing another TW drama with good kisses)
Xin Yu finally returns from Hua Lian, and Mei Nan acts unsure around him. He presents her with a necklace, and explains that he didn’t have the heart to tell his mum that it wasn’t a real relationship because his mum was so excited to give his first girlfriend a gift. He asks Mei Nan to accept it, and tells her that even though he knows she only seems him in a big brother light, he hopes that now that she’s aware of his feelings, it might change.
Mu Hua Lan calls Mei Nan in to give her a gift – it’s a cutesy dress for girls, and Mei Nan hesitates when she sees it. Mu Hua Lan confirms that she knows Mei Nan is a girl, and warns her to stay away from the boys (particularly Tai Qing), because she knows that they will get hurt once Mei Nan’s secret gets revealed.
In a faraway country (aka, the US), we see a hooded figure hang up a phone call. Looks like it’s the real Mei Nan, about to come back to Taiwan!
Tai Qing catches Mei nan taking a photo of a tomato stem, and he requests to see how many stars she’s found so far. He teases that she’s only found three so far, but pulls out a star necklace once she leaves. He muses that with this, she won’t ever have to look for stars again, since she can carry one with her.
Mei Nan’s been called into Jack’s office to talk about projects/listen to the song Tai Qing re-worked. He conveniently mentions that Mu Hua Lan and the songwriter had an ardent relationship, and that the song had been written begging for the woman the writer loved to come back to him. Mei Nan drops the glass star she’d been playing with at the news (foreshadowing!) in shock – she’d thought that Mu Hua Lan and her father were only friends. Aunt confirms it later, saying that she didn’t want Mei Nan to think badly of her father if she knew he’d abandoned his pregnant wife for Mu Hua Lan, and that Mei Nan’s mother had died alone. 😦
A furious Mei Nan rushes to Mu Hua Lan’s suite demanding to know answers, and Mu Hua Lan calls up Tai Qing to tell him that she’s meeting “that writer’s child – Gao Mei Nan”. Tai Qing doesn’t believe it at first, and goes to Mei Nan’s room to look for her. He discovers her photo with her dad, as well as the signed photo from Mu Hua Lan early on in the drama.
Inside the suite, Mei Nan calls Mu Hua Lan a liar – saying that there is no way her father would have loved her and abandoned her mother. Mu Hua Lan just laughs, and tells her that her mother was in denial as well, and as a result suffered. She holds up the song as proof, saying that everyone else accepts it, why not Mei Nan? Tai Qing bursts in – horror dawning on his face as he sees Mei Nan standing with his mother. Mu Hua Lan nails the coffin shut as she tells Tai Qing that Mei Nan was aware of their mother-son relationship, but never said a word of it or her parentage.
Mei Nan follows Tai Qing back to the house, begging him to turn around. He pushes her away as Xin Yu rounds the corner, and asks why she never told him she was the daughter of the songwriter. Mei Nan doesn’t reply, but continues to try and grab Tai Qing’s arm. At one point Tai Qing gets fed up and tells her to never come near him again, pushing her so hard she falls onto the ground. Tai Qing stares in horror, but Xin Yu reacts quickly and punches him in the face. They begin to fight, but Mei Nan jumps in between the two, protecting Tai Qing. Xin Yu stares at her in shock – he’d promised to hurt Tai Qing if he ever made Mei Nan cry…what was she doing?? In the end, both Xin Yu and Tai Qing walk away, leaving Mei Nan to cry on the stairs.
Everyone’s favourite reporter Da Pai has finally worked out the truth. He saw fan uploaded photos of Tai Qing and Xin Yu fighting, and reasons that they’d only do that if Mei Nan was actually Mei Nu. Jack and Mark deny the fight, saying that Xin Yu was helping Tai Qing….not with another fight though. Da Pai agrees to not write about it if they do him a favour…an interview with both twins.
This spells trouble, so Mark sends A.N. Jell minus Tai Qing off to Okinawa until the real Mei Nan gets back. As the band flies off, we see Tai Qing making a phone call to an old music teacher pal.
Mei Nan is still reserved and sad while at the resort, so Xin Yu asks her to go on a walk with him down to the beach. He tells her that his feelings should be pretty clear by now, and Mei Nan replies that hers should as well. He reads it as “I’m sorry I can’t accept your feelings”, and reveals that the girl he always spoke about that he liked, the one with the secret that got found out, was her. Finally! He also presents her with a present – photos of Mei Nan’s mother and some of her songs. Aw – if you acted like this in the beginning you would have gotten the girl!
Mei Nan begins to cry, thankful that she finally knows what her mother looks like. She promises to look at the photos whenever she feels nostalgic, and Xin Yu grabs her in a hug, telling her that while he isn’t able to show her her mother’s warmth, she should listen to the songs while she sleeps and pretend that for the hug at least, Xin Yu is her mum. Aw. Tai Qing sees the hug from a distance, and grips a similar looking package tightly in jealously.
Mu Hua Lan barges in to the headquarters, demanding to know who told the media that her song wasn’t actually written for her. Jack confusedly replies that it wasn’t him – all he knows is that the song was written for the woman the songwriter loved. Mu Hua Lan just repeats (with a crazed look in her eye) “it’s me, it has to be me, it can only be me” while Jack looks on worriedly. Like I said, obsessed.
Mei Nan chases Tai Qing at the airport, but is always a few seconds too late. She finally stops him right before he boards the plane, and thanks him for the CD of her mother. She explains that Xin Yu told her her mother’s name (along with giving her photos), and Tai Qing coldly tells Mei Nan that she can just stick with Xin Yu then.
Rollercoaster of feels I tell ya. I’m so so so so so glad the date was planned by Tai Qing (nice twist to the original), as well as the kisses…sigh 🙂 Fabulous Boys really brought its worth with this episode, can’t wait for the finale! I think I might like this episode better than the corresponding original ep (except for the bus scene – Hongki wins that hands down).
the kiss gif I linked to was pretty good up until the last one, which I found a bit jerky and rushed. Still, better than nothing!
This episode should be nicknamed “Confession Confetti”, because dang those confessions are flying everywhere, left and right.
You can watch Fabulous Boys on Dramafever here!
Moments after the kiss, Tai Qing runs off in shock, leaving Mei Nan stunned. She slowly sits down, wondering if he really did kiss her and what it meant. She revisits the kiss in her memory, but then recalls that Tai Qing also kissed Xin Ning…and he doesn’t like her at all. She decides to get up and talk to Tai Qing about it (yay! proactive)…only to walk in on Xin Ning and Tai Qing talking about her.
Xin Ning, of course, realizes that Mei Nan is watching them, and purposefully starts asking what Mei Nan means to Tai Qing. Tai Qing doesn’t know Mei Nan is watching, and as such tries to play off his relationship with Mei Nan as just friendliness. Xin Ning being the jerk she is, twists his words into “Mei Nan means nothing to you, right?”.
A heartbroken Mei Nan runs sobbing to the practice rooms, and doesn’t pick up when Xin Yu calls her cellphone. Loverboy finally finds her after checking all the practice rooms, and resignedly asks if she’s crying because of Tai Qing again. He then asks her what about himself – she stood him up (again) to meet the girl, and he isn’t feeling too great either. Mei Nan apologizes over and over (she said sorry close to 10 times before I lost count), and Xin Yu sighs before picking up the guitar next to him to sing a song about fools in love.
Now that she’s calmed down, Mei Nan vows to plays off the kiss so that Tai Qing doesn’t think that she thinks much of it. She decides to send him a message saying “Tai Qing, the kiss didn’t have any meaning”…only she zones out while typing it and actually wrote: “Tai Qing, the kiss had so much meaning”. Hahahaha. Panicking, Mei Nan runs to Tai Qing’s room to try and intercept the message. Unfortunately for her, his phone is locked, and she can’t guess the password in time before he walks out of the restroom. Mei Nan jumps and tries to put the phone back subtly, but ends up banging her leg against his table.
Tai Qing sits her down in the living room so that he can bandage her leg, and teases her about the text (he’d seen it right away). Tai Qing looks so gleeful, until Mei Nan confesses what she’d wanted to say. He gets huffy, asking her if the kiss was bad (she shakes her head), then grumpily paraphrases that she just wants to kiss to be wiped from their record…right?
Mei Nan nods, but inwardly thinks to herself that no matter what happens in the future, the memory of the kiss is one she will hold dear to her heart. She gets up slowly and limps towards the stairs, until Tai Qing swoops in and lifts her bridal style. He tells her to take care of her body
while staring lovingly into her eyes before slowly climbing the stairs. Just confess already!
A.N. Jell and Xin Ning have a photo shoot together, and the boys all ignore Xin Ning in favour of Mei Nan. She pouts bitterly while talking to the coordi, until the coordi lets slip that Mei Nan likes Xin Yu – it’s a pity she can’t dress up as a girl in front of him. Xin Ning gets a gleam in her eye (uhoh), and whispers something to the coordi.
Da Pai is at the shoot as well, taking photos and generally snooping around about the “mystery girl” who was at A.N. Jell’s promotional events. Jack denies any knowledge, but requests that Da Pai write some good news about Mei Nan.
Transformation scene! The coordi pulls Mei Nan away once the photo shoot takes a break, and gives her a makeover to make her look more girly! She also provides her with a star headband (cough symbolism) and a sparkly white dress, and tells Mei Nan to enjoy the moment while the break lasts. She also snaps a polaroid for Mei Nan to keep as a souvenir, to look at if she ever gets tired of dressing like a boy. Why do I feel like that polaroid is going to end up in someone else’s possession?
While Mei Nan is twirling around in her dress, she notices Xin Yu in the mirror. She whirls around to see him ogling her, and he explains that the coordi told him to come to the atrium to look at something – it must have been her. Mei Nan gets embarrassed and turns away, but Xin Yu tells her that the clothes really suit her, and she looks really pretty like this.
Xin Ning has been dragging Tai Qing towards the atrium as well, and they walk in just as Xin Yu compliments Mei Nan. Xin Ning jumps in to ask Mei Nan is she specifically dressed this way for Xin Yu, causing Mei Nan to look shocked and Tai Qing to storm off angrily.
Xin Ning leaves now that her evil work is done, and Xin Yu is left comforting a crying Mei Nan. He tells her that it’s obvious she has feelings for Tai Qing, and asks if she wants Tai Qing to know. Mei Nan shakes her head – she wants to keep them hidden, away in the dark. He leaves after telling her not to cry – only to be spotted by Da Pai. Da Pai also sees Xin Ning walk into the building (to torment Mei Nan some more), and wonders why Xin Ning would be walking into a building that Xin Yu was just in.
Xin Ning is indeed back to torment Mei Nan, and she asks if Mei Nan believes dressing like this makes her look pretty. Xin Ning also hisses that she won’t ever let Mei Nan get Tai Qing.
Her evil rant is stopped as Da Pai enters the atrium – he gleefully makes his way over to the two girls, trying to figure out the identity of the second. Xin Ning whispers to Mei Nan that they’re all done for if he finds out, and tells her to run while she distracts Da Pai. Xin Ning pretends to clumsily hit Da Pai on the head and bump into his camera – stalling him to see if he’s alright. To bad all their work is for naught, because Mei Nan dropped her polaroid on the ground as she ran, leaving Da Pai to pick it up.
Back at the shoot, Tai Qing sits beside Mark as he goes through the photos. Mark accidentally knocks Mei Nan’s back off the table, and Tai Qing notices the star pin he bought her lying beside a box. Mark tells him that the box is Mei Nan’s treasure box, and she carries it with her everywhere. As Tai Qing ponders that new piece of information, Mark exasperatedly wonders how long Mei Nan is going to make “that face”. Mei Nan was caught on camera making her pig nosed face, and Mark explains to Tai Qing that he taught it to Mei Nan so that when she’s in front of the person she likes and feels overwhelmed by her feelings, she can press her “nose pressure point” to relieve it. Ha – you can literally see the gears turning in Tai Qing’s head as he processes the information.
Mei Nan’s still crying as she stands alone, when all of a sudden a car drives up and shines brightly in her face. It’s Tai Qing, and he tells her that he can finally see her now, but she can’t see him. This is what it must have been – where he couldn’t see her crying when she was in the shadows…how many times was she crying because of him?
He gets in close, and tells her that he accepts her feelings. He doesn’t mind them at all – after all he receives the love from thousands of fans as well. Mei Nan jumps on the word “fan”, and thanks him for accepting her as his fan. Tai Qing doesn’t like the word (you goof you should have confessed!), but works with it and tells her that since she’s special, she’s going to be a VV VIP. With that, he grabs her into a hug, and twirls her around as part of her VV VIP treatment. He then taps her nose into a pig nose and laughs. kflkafdljkdfjlklj CONFESS DARN IT.
Aunt is meeting with Mu Hua Lan, and she asks if Mu Hua Lan ever had children…could she be the mother of the twins? Mu Hua Lan replies that she didn’t give birth to the twins, but she’s the reason their mother died, so she feels responsible towards them.
Tai Qing takes Mei Nan on a romantic date – and Mei Nan asks sheepishly if all the fans receive such romantic one on one time. HA. He tells her to just enjoy it and eat
while making moon eyes at her, before making her feed him dessert and asking her to dance. At one point Mei Nan can’t dance properly because of her heels, so Tai Qing takes them off for her and tells her to stand on his boots. D’AW.
Mark shows Da Pai proof that the twins are in fact twins, and Da Pai asks if it’s true then that Mei Nu is Xin Yu’s girlfriend. Mark has no choice but to confirm it, and Da Pai asks to interview the two right away.
Xin Yu calls Mei Nan during the dinner date, and picks her up from Tai Qing. He doesn’t fail to miss the way they look at each other, but tells Tai Qing that from this point on – Mei Nan is his girlfriend. They conduct the interview easily, Xin Yu fields all the questions because Mei Nan/Nu is just a civilian who isn’t used to reporters/stardom.
It looks like Mei Nan took the term “fan” literally, as she signs up as “Pig Rabbit” on A.N. Jell’s fan cafe. She notes that the number of members has dropped, and posts a little introduction asking the other members to take care of her. Tai Qing is also on the fancafe looking at member statistics, and laughs to see her username.
Aunt takes Mei Nan to meet with Mu Hua Lan, and they talk a little about the song that Tai Qing is re-arranging. Mu Hua Lan remarks that she always had the hardest time telling the two twins apart, but freezes as she sees Mei Nan scratch her forhead – the boy always had a scar above his eyebrow. She deduces that this must be the girl, and wonders what she’s doing in A.N. Jell.
Later, Mu Hua Lan swings by the company and spies Mei Nan and Tai Qing playfully fighting – she vows that she won’t let “that woman’s” daughter get involved with her son.
Xin Yu and Mei Nan head to the airport to go meet his mother and explain the situation. Jeremy, the coordi, and Mark were supposed to go with them, but Mark purposefully got the two alone to give them “romantic time”. At the airport, Xin Yu asks Mei Nan if they can just tell his mother they’re dating for real, and confesses his feelings. He doesn’t want an answer right away though, and tells her to meet him on the plane if she wants to return his feelings.
Tai Qing drives to the airport, worrying that Xin Yu will be alone with Mei Nan. He runs around the airport looking for her, until he sees her still sitting where Xin Yu left her. He runs up to her and hugs her, before whispering in her ear that he likes her. Aw. Poor Xin Yu is left on the plane, looking sadly at the empty seat next to him.
WHY DIDN”T YOU CONFESS RIGHT AWAY YOU SILLY BOY YOU COULD HAVE SAVED SO MUCH TIME!!!!!
okay now that I’ve got that off my chest… hooray for forward movement! Feelings are out in the open for all sides, and choices are made. Thank goodness. Now all we gotta do is wrap up the missing twin/Mei Nan pretending to be her brother pretending to be herself dating her brother’s (who is herself) bandmate.
